The 2011 SEA Games football match a while ago was quite a source of pride for the Indonesian people. Including Daniel and Zaki. A day before the match was broadcast on TV, Zaki and Daniel set up a large screen to watch it together in their village field.
“Zak, for the upcoming SEA Games, which side are you 'rooting for', Malaysia or Indonesia?” Zaki wiped his sweaty forehead.
“Ugh… I'll just 'hold' Malaysia.” Daniel was stunned and approached Zaki with a fierce expression.
“Whoa! What's wrong with you? You said you're a good Indonesian citizen, why are you 'holding' our enemy!?”
Zaki just smiled while adjusting the screen fabric. It seemed like he was hiding something in his mind.
“If I 'hold' Indonesia, Indonesia will definitely lose to Malaysia.”
“What, how can that be?” Daniel retorted, furrowing his brow.
“Of course it can, because I'll be constantly holding Indonesia's players. If I keep holding Indonesia, Malaysia will automatically be free to attack our team. Then Indonesia could lose, right? So… it's better if I hold Malaysia so Indonesia is free to attack. We win, then!”
Suddenly, the air around them felt hotter than usual. Daniel's face grew redder. And his hands were already clenched into fists, like a boxer ready to punch his opponent.
